It is important that you feed the correct cat foods to your pet so that he stays healthy. This guide on pet foods will advise you on how to feed your cat.

Cat Foods – Cat Feeding Tips

    • Cat foods are like most things in the respect that you get what you pay for. Cheap cat foods will contain mostly water and cereal you will find very little meat in these pet foods.

    • You should always read the labels on pet foods. If you see things like beef flavour you will find that there probably isn’t any meat in the cat food at all.

    • Most well known cat food brands are just 4% meat.

    • Tinned cat foods are usually 75% moisture which is why cats get most of their water from food.

    • If you feed your cat dry cat foods then you will find you need to provide your cat with a lot more water.

    • Dry cat foods are the most economical and the wet cat food pouches are the most expensive.

    • When buying cat food you should look for the word ‘complete’ which means you do not need to add anything extra to the food. Nutritionally there is everything inside the natural cat food that your cat needs.

    • Mixing two cat foods is a great idea, put some dry food in a dish with half a wet cat food pouch and your cat will have a well balanced meal.

    • Because dry cat food is very concentrated you should never leave out a large amount of it. Always feed your cat in accordance with its weight and the instructions on the back of the food packet.
