Buying a dog is an exciting prospect. Thanks to the internet, you can now buy a dog online, making the process much simpler than before. However, there are certain considerations to think about when looking at online dogs so that you end up buying a dog that has come from a reliable and kind seller. See the following guide on how to buy a dog online for more advice.

    •    Visit an online dogs section of a website to find where to buy a dog. Browse the selection and seek out what type of dog you are looking for. Make sure the address of any potential seller is not a PO Box. It is best if you can verify where the seller is based. Puppy mills are to be avoided.

    •    When you have found an owner that you are considering buying a dog from you should contact them. It is important to speak to them on the phone. If they are not willing to provide you with a telephone number then you should be weary of them. The advertiser could be running a scam if they only contact via email and do not provide a verified address of phone number.

    •    Before you buy a dog, arrange a visit so that you can see the dog first. If the owner is reluctant to allow you to visit, alarm bells should be ringing.

    •    When you do go to buy a dog from the owner, make sure you are happy with the condition that it has been kept in. Ask the owner about the background of the puppy and what, if any, vaccinations it has had.

    •    When you are happy that buying a dog from this seller is acceptable, exchange the money agreed and take your dog home.
